The anticipation surrounding the new ARCH ENEMY album, Rise of The Tyrant, is at an all-time high as the release date of Sept. 25th draws near. If the initial press reactions are any indication of the album’s success then this offering is clearly destined to be the group’s defining moment.

ARCH ENEMY are currently featured on the cover of Outburn Magazine’s new issue, which is now on stands. Click the link below to check it out. http://www.centurymedia.com/us/images/artists/arch_enemy/OUTBURN40.jpg

The crushing opening track, “Blood On Your Hands," from Rise of The Tyrant, is currently available on the band's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/archenemy

ARCH ENEMY mastermind Michael Amott (guitars) further describes the meaning behind the album’s concept: “When Angela (Gossow) brought in the lyrics to what is musically the most extreme song on the album, I immediately loved the title she had for it. ‘Rise of The Tyrant.’ It had power, it had grace and it sounded like the music we were writing. We quickly decided to also name the album Rise of The Tyrant – after all, we do aspire to dominate the metal scene with this album!

“Later, I had the idea of adding the sample from the old ‘Caligula’ film at the front of the song. Caligula, the Roman Emperor known for his extreme extravagance, eccentricity, depravity and cruelty, perfectly enhanced the atmosphere of total megalomania that we were looking for.

“Although, we have never delved into the marshy lands of a full-blown concept album, we do tend to write a few songs on each album that are connected lyrically and sometimes also musically. With Rise of The Tyrant we threw in all the ideas and creativity that we could conjure – we wanted to make the most action packed and intense album of our career! This album is the final result of two years hard yet satisfying work."

ARCH ENEMY will make their much-anticipated return to the U.S. in the fall of 2007 on the “The Black Tyranny Tour" co-headlining with Machine Head as Rise of The Tyrant ultimately redefines the genre they helped to create. See the tour section for their complete itinerary.

The anticipation surrounding the new ARCH ENEMY album, Rise of The Tyrant, is at an all-time high as the group kicked off their massive co-headlining North American tour with Machine Head this past week. The trek, dubbed “The Black Tyranny Tour," also features Throwdown and Sanctity in the support slots and is easily one of the most crushing touring packages of the year. Click the link below to check out the new Rise of The Tyrant commercial spot. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=17482004

“The Black Tyranny Tour" also officially marks the return of Chris Amott (guitars) to the U.S. and brother Mike Amott (guitars) states: “So we are already a week into our co-headlining tour with Machine Head here in the U.S. I am loving the shows and the general vibe of this tour, lots of really cool and friendly people. We've been off the road for over six months and it's so good to be back. Especially with Chris back in the fold - he's been playing great and is excited about meeting our fans again, on and off the stage! Both Chris and I have some new killer toys from RANDALL (RM100 Amps and XL cabs) and DIGITECH (GSP1101), and it's a pure joy playing such awesome equipment - I can honestly say I have never been happier with my lead tone. So as the 'Black Tyranny Tour' rolls over North America we are looking forward to more great experiences out there. Hope to see you all soon."

Angela Gossow (vocals) further comments: “Too many things happen every day. Before we arrived in the U.S. we shot two videos with Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Lacuna Coil) in Gothenburg. The video for the song 'Revolution Begins' is set in a huge gravel pit with plenty of pyros going off whilst we were playing. Until the wind changed and Daniel’s hair was no more – well, at least some of it. It kinda caught fire and literally melted down in a split second. Pretty, pretty scary!

“The next day, we shot a video for the track 'I Will Live Again' in Patric's studio with me being tied back to the wall, fighting against the chains. I tore them right out of the wall and flew into the burning hot set lights in front of me. The result are a couple of 3rd degree burns on my forearms. Ouch! I will remember that one for quite awhile."

Mike agrees: “Working with Patric Ullaeus for the first time was a blast! Patric was super professional and cool to work with. It was the most painless video shoot I have ever been a part of (luckily I didn't get burnt like Daniel and Angela). Be sure to check out our MySpace page to view some photos from the shoots and I can't wait to see the finished results."

Rise of The Tyrant is set for a Sept. 25th release and if the initial press reactions are any indication of the album’s success then this offering is clearly destined to be the group’s defining moment. The crushing opening track, “Blood On Your Hands," is currently available on the band's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/archenemy
